Collection of restored farm machinery, tools and related items used in farming during the 1800's and early 1900's.

Hobo Museum

Hobo history, pictures, artifacts, musical instruments and other items depicting Hobo history and the National Hobo Convention which has been held since 1900. Museum is located in the former Chief Theater.

Armstrong House Museum

The Armstrong House in Britt, Iowa is a large Victorian house built in 1896 at a cost of $15,000 for Lewis Larson. The builder was John Victoria who built many of Britt’s early large buildings, both residential and commercial. Mr. Larson, a Norwegian immigrant, eventually settled in Britt to become the president of the newly organized First National Bank.

Draft Horse Show

The first Britt Draft Horse Show was held on Labor Day weekend, 1982, at the Hancock County Fairgrounds just south of town. It was organized when a group of local draft horse enthusiasts felt there was a need for this type of performance in the area.

Each year the show features eighteen of the finest draft horse hitches in North America, representing the very best of the Belgian, Percheron, Clydesdale and Shire performance horses. This unique event draws thousands of spectators, young and old alike, from all over the Midwest.

Britt Hobo Days

Since 1900 the City of Britt, Iowa has been hosting a National Hobo Convention. The non-profit Hobo Day Association supports the National Hobo Convention.
